I decided that I want to set up my race bike Stan's style, but picking tires has been like splitting hairs for me. I need tires that are going to be relatively strong; no super light ~300 gram tires. I don't want any weak python style tires that are all the rage right now, either. I don't know how anyone is supposed to take rocky corners at 30 mph with those things. I want tires that will also do well in wet and muddy conditions. Unfortunately, Continental doesn't make my favorite back tire with "ProTection" sidewalls anymore, so I am screwed out of using my favorite Continental tire combo. And call me tacky, but I want matching brand tires on my bike. I've got it narrowed down to Geax or Bontrager, or maybe Maxxis!
This is one of my last free days before I start what I am going to call the “gauntlet.” Training to the max, school to the max, and work to the max. Intense. Staying focused is the key.
